The DCC Story
From our founding in 1999 to forming a key part of the largest independent PPE supplier in the UK, read about our story here.
Our Past, Present and Future
1999: DCC Founded
Founded in 1999 Direct Corporate Clothing began as technical workwear and PPE focused supplier, primarily aiming our solutions at B2B organisations.
2007 – DCC becomes incorporated
Gradually extending our offering the years, we became incorporated in 2007 with other businesses owned by the Sohal family.
2008-2015: Market Share Expansion
From 2008 – 2015, we continued honing our craft, developing sector-specific expertise and supply chain resilience which paved for the way for many large account wins.
2016: DCC Acquires The Business Wear Company
As we continued to gain market share, we made our first strategic acquisition to further accelerate our growth, acquiring Leeds-based “The Business Wear Company”.
2019: Sandwell’s Fastest Growing Company
Further notable contract wins and the expansion of our start-to-finish managed contract offering saw us recognised as the fastest growing company in Sandwell.
2021: DCC Acquires Incorporatewear
In 2021 we acquired corporate clothing and bespoke uniform supplier, Incorporatewear.
Incorporatewear specialise in bespoke, precision crafted uniforms across a diverse range of sectors and this purchase would lay the foundation for our eventual transition to Workwear Uniform Group.
2023: Introducing Workwear Uniform Group
In 2023, Workwear Uniform Group Ltd (WWUGL) established, with DCC and Incorporatewear joining other brands as part of the new company’s cradle-to-grave workwear offering, spanning sourcing and design to manufacturing and end-of-product-life processing.
WWUGL is now the UK’s largest independent PPE supplier.
2024 and beyond
Significant investments in a new automated warehouse, new business management systems and online ordering portals are paving the new way for a new era at Workwear Uniform Group, underpinned by industry-leading customer service and operational capabilities.
